2019 Coding Positions Compensation Survey

General Information

Your organization is invited to participate in the 2019 Coding Positions Compensation Survey, conducted by Altura Consulting Group.

The survey focuses on 22 coding positions, covering base pay and other practices including incentive and sign-on bonuses.  This year’s survey features four new positions:

  • Professional/Physician Coder
  • Senior Professional/Physician Coder
  • Professional/Physician Coding Supervisor
  • Professional/Physician Coding Manager

Last year, 67 organizations reported pay data for 71 facilities/regions.  These included 7 organizations noted as Top 20 National Hospitals based on the U.S. News & World Report 2018-2019 Honor Roll rankings.

2019 Survey Schedule

  • September 30:  Survey participation form distributed (Data effective August 1, 2019)
  • November 1:  Survey participation EXTENDED deadline
  • By November 27:  Survey results distributed

All survey data submitted by participants for surveys conducted by Altura Consulting Group is provided on the basis that the data confidentiality of each participant will be fully protected at all times.

Protection of confidentiality extends to compensation data reported and to any kind of observation or form of analysis that could serve to identify a company with its data to an experienced person.
